Centralizing the discussion: a categorization system

In this article, I propose a system of categorizing articles, research, and editorials on the future of journalism and suggest the most authoritative papers within each category. This is sorely needed to give newcomers an idea of where to start and experts a way to move forward in their level of discourse. [1]

Of course, being a fly-on-the-wall, I would appreciate suggestions. Additionally, authoritative figures should comment on what additional information is needed to resolve ongoing debates within individual categories.

This article is under heavy construction.

TODO:

  • I need to flesh it out.
  • I need to nominate thought leaders.
  • I/someone needs to write a summary of each category.
  • Someone needs to vet each category.
  • Someone needs to write what research needs to be done to finish off each category.
  • Everyone needs to concentrate on one category when writing or do a survey article.

\1 With the current overload of information, meta-discussions summarizing lines of arguments are far more helpful than PRO/CONs.

  • featured – best thus far.
  • gamma – finished work.
  • beta – in progress.

  • all – all articles.
  • survey – comprehensive appraisal of a single subject.

Annotalia is a meta-recursive project to collect and editorialize comprehensive, high-quality sets of links on topics of interest.
